Bon Iver Live!

Bon Iver had a concert at Deer Lake Park last May.

Amazing is an understatement! They are one of the few bands who actually sound better live. To quote my sister, "What do you expect? They're not a pop group."

I bought a Canon AT-1 just before the concert out of desperation, since the venue doesn't allow professional cameras (the 5D isn't exactly petite, and neither is the 400D..tough to sneak past security). I figured they wouldn't recognize a professional camera from the 1970's anyway. It worked! HA!

We drove to the venue to Devendra Banheart's 'Lover,' got lost somewhere along the way and fed the parking meter $8 or so that we didn't end up using.

Also, hipster girlfriend dance battle ensued on our left for the entire duration of the concert.

January

Rough work. This isn't very good. It took about an hour to piece together a bunch of random clips I've accumulated this month.

The clips are a bit shaky, but hey, I can't lug a humongous tripod all around the city.
Maybe I'll buy a monopod.

I might do this monthly...or bimonthly depending on how much time I have on my hands.

All shot with a 50mm f/1.8, because I'm cheap and lazy like that.

Hi there!

You have stumbled upon the blog on the life and times of a pretty damn average student at The University of British Columbia, currently studying Sciences so she can become a photographer.

I welcome you to peruse through the details of my mundane existence.

That's it for now. I have a life too, you know.
